Louis Vuitton Cloud Jazz trumpet-silhouette jacquard crewneck sweater
This crewneck sweater bursts with improvisational color inspired by music. The back depicts the silhouette of a musician playing a trumpet. Logo motifs are scattered like notes across the left shoulder and front. A novel LV-letter print resembles a dove of peace.
The original-style piece was direct-shipped from Europe for 9400; preparing the artwork after arrival took one week. It was recreated stitch by stitch, with different layouts on the front, back, left, and right. The computer program is very complex; production requires an intarsia machine with 16 needles and 32 yarn feeders (those familiar with the trade will know imported Stoll or Shima Seiki machines). Each garment takes 300 minutes to knit, and only a large factory with multiple intarsia machines can produce it. The yarn is 60-count super-soft combed cotton from a top domestic wool-yarn supplier. It is washed and steam-set for the best comfort. If possible, compare it at a boutique; fidelity is over 99.
